MKhuze Environmental Camp Update

Conserv Earth fully equipped the uMkhuze Environmental Camp within the uMkhuze section of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. This enabled the camp to officially be opened on the 12 July.

Since then, Simon Nxumalo who heads up the camp has successfully hosted numerous camps for students who live in the rural areas surrounding the park. Four of these camps were sponsored by Conserv Earth, with a total of 98 students attending. This allows them to experience the wonders of the KZN Bushveld and to understand the value of managing the area as a conservation space. “Living at kwajobe kingdom next to UMkhuze game reserve. my group is Zimisele Conservation group. I send this message to conserve Earth to thank you for giving me the chance to go to UMkhuze game reserve to see what I haven’t seen before. In Mkhuze I’ve seen lot of wild animals, those who lives in the water, trees, and lot beauty of nature. I really appreciate it thank you very much conserve Earth” – Andiswa Jobe

As I’m Nelisiwe I was so happy to come to uMkhuze game reserve ‘because learn thing that I don’t know   about the environment. how to protect plants and animals .Animals we can live like people you can show a dangerous you happened like giraffe because is longest you see the long things i happening in that time ,and zebra you can leads animals to water.” – Nelisiwe Myeni

I’m so very happy to come Mkuze game reserve is fast day can see different animals and tree the giraffe they fight with necked then protect another animal l see queen tree their keep water at maria this queen tree used pills to prevent then have process of guttation in this game reserve have big forest.” – Lindeni Phakamile Gumede

Hi, my name is Happy Mabika from Zimisele Environmental club at kwa Jobe like to thank you for the opportunity to learn about the environment and how to save or protect our environment for future generations and learn about the queen in tree they make the pills for malaria and fig tree .the powder of the fig tree protect against the sun thank you.” – Happy Mabika

I’m Thandeka Mafukwe. I’m coming from Izimisele Enviromental group at Kwajobe area .I’m first day to sleep at Mkuze game reserve in this weekend for two nights I’m very happy for that on Saturday we go to fig forest I’ have seen many things such as animals & trees. Mr Nxumalo and Mr Mazolo we also teach us about nature conservation. thanks a lot for give us information bye!!!” – Thandeka Mafukwe

It is heartwarming to hear such great feedback directly from the students. Thank to Simon Nxumalo and the Mkhuze team who put so much effort onto these camps.
