Conserv Earth is providing the Southern African Wildlife College (SAWC) with monthly support for their K9 Unit.
The Conserv Earth funds are being used for the welfare and training of a nine-month-old puppy named Masana. Masana means warmth from the sun (sunshine / sunrise). She is currently being trained to assist with anti-poaching within the Greater Kruger National Park.
The SAWC’s K9 unit was established in 2015 in response to the increased level of wildlife crimes. As an applied learning institution, the goal was to test the use of a free-tracking canine asset to help curb poaching and to inform best anti-poaching practices.
