Southern African Wildlife College K9 Unit Support

Southern African Wildlife College K9 Unit Support

R79 000 for the SAWC K9 unit

Conserv Earth is providing the Southern African Wildlife College (SAWC) with monthly support for their K9 Unit.

The Conserv Earth funds were being used for the welfare and training of a puppy named Masana. Masana means warmth from the sun (sunshine / sunrise). Unfortunately she passed away in an unfortunate accident, however we have continued to fund the unit in her memory.

The SAWC’s K9 unit was established in 2015 in response to the increased level of wildlife crimes. As an applied learning institution, the goal was to test the use of a free-tracking canine asset to help curb poaching and to inform best anti-poaching practices.
